Dr. Rabih O. Al-Kaysi
Rabih O. Al-Kaysi (born in Beirut Lebanon, 1973) received his B.S. degree in chemistry from the American University of Beirut, Beirut Lebanon in 1995 and a Ph. D. in organic/ photochemistry (supervisor, Prof. David Creed) from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg MS in 2002. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY from 2002 to 2005 under the supervision of Prof. J. L. Goodman. He then joined the University of California, Riverside CA as a postdoctoral fellow in 2005-2007 and worked for Prof. C. J. Bardeen. Since sep. 2007, after more than 10 years in the United States, Dr. Al-Kaysi accepted an Assistent Professor of Chemistry position at the King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences-National Guard Health Affairs in Riyadh KSA. He is currently an associate prof. of chemistry. Dr. Al-Kaysi has authored numerous scientific papers in the field of organic chemistry, photophysics, and nanomaterials chemistry. His research was cited in prestigious journals such as Nature and Angewandte. His current research centers on the synthesis and fabrication of novel organic nano-materials with photomechanical response. He is also interested in the organic synthesis of novel Meisenheimer complexes and biologically active small molecules.
